Canadian Experience Class
Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is probably the most popular program within Express Entry system. Although the ITAs issued to CEC applicants are very common, it is becoming increasingly difficult to earn an ITA under this program.
To be eligible and register an Express Entry profile under CEC, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years
- Language Proficiency: Minimum CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) score of 5 in all four area of English or French exam
- Plans to live outside of Quebec
It is important to note that work experience of self-employment, or during student status cannot count towards the eligible work experience in CEC.
Meeting the above complicated requirement does not guarantee an Invitation to Apply (ITA) or permanent residence visa. Candidates must score competitive CRS points within Express Entry system to earn an ITA and permanent residence visa later on.
